Today is STR's 18th anniversary. My how times flies.
Seems like just a couple of years ago Greg and I met with a group of about 50 or so members of our church that had been prayer supporters of Greg's work at the church and the radio show he was already doing. We asked for their wisdom and support if they agreed with us that it would be a good decision to start a new organization to train Christians to think.
Training clear-thinking Christians was our simple mission statement at the time and is still what we do. They agreed and STR was launched that day. We didn't have a clear idea of what the future of STR would look like; we never mapped a plan to reach the point where we are today. We've followed the opportunities God has given us and that have seemed wise.
We're very grateful to God for using STR as he has, for giving us the opportunity to teach Christians, and for bringing many, many people who have helped to build STR. It's a wonderful thing to use our gifts for the sake of God's Kingdom and witness what He does with our efforts.
Thank you to everyone who supports STR with their prayers and gifts, and who have used the training in any way to be more effective ambassadors to extend God's Kingdom. To God be the glory!
Happy anniversary! Thank you so much for your ministry. I discovered it only a couple of years ago, and cannot do with out it! It has been such a huge help not only to my own personal growth, but having a resource to point others to when they have questions about all the topics you cover.
Sadly, Christian culture and teaching seem to get more watered down by the day. People seem to have lost any ability to think through issues in a logical, rational manner. It's all emotions and slogans.
STR is a refreshing oasis in a desert of noise that ends up being 'sound and fury, signifying nothing'.
Thanks again, and may you keep on going for many more years!

I've benefited a lot from Stand To Reason over the years. I know of many others who have as well. Your efforts are appreciated (Hebrews 6:10). For each person you hear from who's been helped by the work you've done, there probably are thousands more you haven't heard from.

Time does indeed fly, I remember being Calvary Babtist Church in Santa Ana to hear Greg, Francis Beckwith and some others[I think Craig Hawkins was there and also others that were there for STR that I dont remember specifically] talk about a vision for the growth of STR's ministry. I believe that was the beginning of the effort to have training materials and programs like the A-B-C series come to fruition out of a commitment to close a serious training/equipping gap in the modern evangelical Christian Church.
I'm convinced that STR had much to with the church's acute sense to sniff out relativism in all it's forms--in the church and outside it--and expose it for what it is. The Christian worldveiw has been defended and supported by STR's clear, concise, and easily apprehendible resources.
I have been over the years a frequent supporter of STR [although the recent years have been very lean], so I really am proud of having been a part of what STR does--not for my making a financial contribution, but for the faithful way this ministry has shown itself to be worthy of support in it's integrity and proficiency as it protects the faith once delivered to the saints in an era when the assault against the true faith is growing and getting more sophisticated.
I hope everyone who's benefitted from STR would consider supporting them in any way they can--you wont regret being in league with them.
