Greg explains why Christians should be prepared to confront the ideas behind evolution rather than simply dismiss evolution by saying it's "just a theory."

Greg makes a valid point. We must make a distinction between evolution that works (species variation) and evolution that is speculative or subjective (species advancement).
A fine biological concept can't be tweaked unmercifully to explain social change. History shows periods of decline as well as progress, and the invocation of evolution only displays moments of unfounded optimism on occasion.

I think people quite often confuse "theory" with "hypothesis."
