I felt a twinge of encouragement for the future of our country. That a teenager would be so interested in so deep and controversial of a topic, and to boot that she would be willing to sacrifice something cherished (her grade) for nothing more than the principle of the matter, gives me hope. Thanks for the post, Steve.

I have to tell you, if I was Ms. White's parent, there would be more than "a couple" meetings with administration, and it probably wouldn't stop there (lawyers would probably be involved). I don't know enough to make the claim, but I wonder if the response would have been the same if she had argued *for* ESRC.

I have taught 25 years in public high school; 17 years in juvenile and adult "lock-ups"; actively lead 3 Bible studies per week; and actively read/study something apologetic each day. I say all this not to promote myself but to share it as evidence of one who takes seriously the mandate of 1Peter 3:15. Today, this 65 year old was blessed to learn at the pen of a very thoughtful teen. Thank you Summer!

Summer makes me feel stupid. I'm twice as old as her, and I can't write like that.

This happened a while ago and when James did his Dividing Line show, Summer came on and spoke about it. She was very articulate and charming. You could almost see James' head growing 10 sizes over the airwaves. :)

Unfortunatly, the show is not located in the archives as far as I can find.

That gave me goosebumps!
