I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who thought the characters weren't terribly likable.

JMHO, but Christian carping has given this movie a life it would never have had without the complaints.

I disagree Alan. This movie has a lot of money put into it and has already been promoted in schools, on prime time TV and in book stores. What Christians are doing is helping people understand what kind of view is being portrayed in the storyline.

I thought the movie was more overt than the books. Yes they made some of the characters more moral but the anti-religious diatribe seems to have been made even more obvious in the movie than in the first book.

Matt, we will have to agree to disagree. Yes, lots of money was put in - as is the case with many media industry creations. I live in a liberal area of California and have not seen any promotion in public schools. Even if it had been - so what?

Again, JMHO but believers need to spend more energy promoting the simple truth of the Gospel rather than rising up in protest to every heathen thing that exists. There is not enough time in the day to do the protests. I've yet to see anyone come to Christ through a negative movie review.

The promoters of the movie are wisely banking on Christian protests to get notoriety.

Keep it essential guys, it has always worked and it always will.
