This story thrills me. Every since 9/11, I've wondered whether passengers would have the courage and initiative to take on a threat on a plane. It's good to see this plane had a group of individuals like that. It's a rare thing that every day life calls for physical courage, so it's great to see that that virtue does reside in the character of average Americans.

Developing courage is an important attribute, and not just physical courage but moral courage, as well, which we face every day. The way to face a serious threat is to build our capabilities of courage in the smaller things.
