John Piper says, "Missions exists because worship doesn't. The ultimate issue addressed by missions is that God's glory is dishonored among the peoples of the world." Here's how he says human beings have failed to worship:
The glory of God is not honored.
The holiness of God is not reverenced.
The greatness of God is not admired.
The power of God is not praised.
The truth of God is not sought.
The wisdom of God is not esteemed.
The beauty of God is not treasured.
The goodness of God is not savored.
The faithfulness of God is not trusted.
The commandments of God are not obeyed.
The justice of God is not respected.
The wrath of God is not feared.
The grace of God is not cherished.
The presence of God is not prized.
The person of God is not loved.
The links above are all from me. We're nearing the end of the year, and as you look through this list, ask yourself where you're weak in your appreciation and worship of God. Why not be deliberate about spending time meditating on these things next year? I've linked to a resource for each topic that can help you get started.
It really is amazing how deep and how wide God is. Amy, I love how this post focus on so many aspects of God to think about and worship!

Amy,
I am so appreciative of this blog you've written. I just dropped nearly 1/4 of my checking account on many of the materials you suggested in this blog. It was excellent to read and I promise I will attend to the seeds you've cleverly planted.
Thank you.
