Soooo.... are any Mormons saved?

Dave,

Why the qualifier any? Is that supposed to make the question more difficult?

Your use of any here infers a distinction with a huge difference (a saving difference) – so what would that difference be exactly?

I have no reason to believe that any specific Mormon is saved.

P.S. Even apart from Jesus, if anything the Mormon view of Joseph Smith would be front and center answering this.

@KWM; >"I have no reason to believe that any specific Mormon is saved."

I'm interested in why you believe this.

Dave,

Sure. Should I answer your question before you answer mine?

I already answered your first question.

@KWM;>"Why the qualifier any? Is that supposed to make the question more difficult?

>>No.

>"Your use of any here infers a distinction with a huge difference (a saving difference) – so what would that difference be exactly?"

>>Does being a Mormon rule out the possibility of God saving any Mormon?

You said; "I have no reason to believe that any specific Mormon is saved."

Why do you believe this?

Dave,

My question, in other words, is what would be the difference between a saved Mormon and an unsaved Mormon?

You implied a difference. So what is it?

@KWM:

I am interested in why you believe any Mormon cannot be saved or is not saved.

>"My question, in other words, is what would be the difference between a saved Mormon and an unsaved Mormon?"

>"You implied a difference. So what is it?"

>>One is saved the other not...

Dave,

One is saved the other not...

Ah, of course. Thank you for clearing that up : ) That’s like saying the difference between an atheist and a Christian is that one is saved and one is not. Why is one Mormon saved and the other Mormon not saved?

If all of this comes down to: God will do what God will do. I’m good with that. No argument from me. All that does is make the Mormon part of the discussion arbitrary.

That said, we also have reason to believe that God will do what God says He'll do. I have no reason to believe any specific Mormon will be saved.

Mormons need to be evangelized. Why do they need to be evangelized? (Jesus, Trinity, Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, Gospel, gods, on and on) Lots of work there.

@KWM:

I'm still interested in why you believe this. "I have no reason to believe that any specific Mormon is saved."

Dave,

Why is one Mormon saved and the other Mormon not?

My original question.

@KWM;

I asked a question;"Soooo.... are any Mormons saved?"

Instead of answering you replied with a so far unsupported claim; "I have no reason to believe that any specific Mormon is saved."

So I patiently wait wanting to learn more about your position.

Dave,

Instead of answering you replied with a so far unsupported claim; "I have no reason to believe that any specific Mormon is saved."

How in the world would you know if a claim specific to reasons that I have or have been supplied are supported or not? In other words, I'm making a claim about my experience. You’re definitely doing your part, however, Dave – not supplying reasons. You're making my point in a way.

Let me repeat: Nothing has been presented to me that would cause me to believe a specific Mormon is saved, or further, that Mormons are saved in general. You could change that. Give me a reason, Dave. I’m happy to listen.

Why would one Mormon be saved and not another Mormon?

You have lots of options. Is a Mormon saved because of her Mormonism or depite it?
Is a Mormon saved because she merely believes Jesus existed? Is a Mormon saved because she's a good person and another Mormon is bad person? Does God choose to save a specific Mormon for the fun of it?

Endless possibilities for you to choose from.

@KWM;

I simply asked a question not giving my view. But wanting to hear from others if they believe any Mormons are saved. I asked why you hold your position and would like to learn why you think that way.

Dave,

And now you know. I don't have any reasons to believe a specific Mormon is saved.

Again, if you or anyone else is frustrated that I don't have any reasons to believe any specific Mormon is saved just give me some.

@KWM;

I'm curious why you would hold that position and not give a reason or scriptural support.
